Mad Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn

Recipes from Today’s Show: Breakfast for Dinner

Posted by

TODAY on the show: Eggs and waffles aren’t just for breakfast anymore and can make a quick and delicious weeknight meal. Breakfast burritos stuffed with chorizo sausage, Monterey Jack cheese and your favorite salsa, or eggs poached in tomato sauce with toasty, crunchy bread on the side will keep your family coming back for seconds… and sometimes thirds. Last but not least, my sour cream waffles can be topped with just about anything from berries to chocolate to a homemade syrup that is a Quinn family favorite. More from the show.

  • I would like to know the brand of the waffle iron that was used today on Mad Hungry. I have a Sunbeam one that is probably about 30 yrs old. I'm afraid it may go out sometime when I'm cooking breakfast for guests.Thank You,

  • I really enjoy your shows and have tried to collect the recipes each day. I find the site very hard to find the recipes. Today I accidently stumbled onto this site.

  • I love the show and find it very helpful. If I let a few days or a week go by, I can't find the recipe on the web site. By then I am dying to try the recipe and I am frustrated because I can't.

  • I love the recipe for the tomato sauce and poached eggs. I also love the pan you used and can't find it anywhere! Is it a Martha item?

  • I did not find the recipe for beef empanadas featured on the Sept. 27, 2010 show. I would like to get this recipe.
    Thanks.

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all the comments! I'm Samantha, the Mad Hungry Digital Food Editor.

The waffle iron Lucinda used is a Cuisinart WAF100 Waffle Iron, 4 Slice Square Belgian. Here's a link for more information: http://ht.ly/2Lj1R

I'm checking in to the type of pan as we speak!

If you're looking for recipes, look for the daily post titled "Recipes from Today's Show". All of the recipes that are part that show will be listed there.

If you have any other questions, or there's anything I can clear up, just let me know.

    Hi Linda,

Beef Empanadas were actually on the 9/23 show. Below is the link to the post with the recipe:

  • I'm loving your show, Lucinda! I've already made 2 of your recipes. I have teenagers and both loved them.

I'm so glad someone asked about the pan you used on this episode. I actually come to your blog to ask the same question.

I just love how your recipes are simple and family friendly. Thanks!

  • I just love watching your show Lucinda. I hate when I have to miss the show. But when I do, I go to your website to see what I missed for that day. Haven't had time to try any of your recipes as yet, but I know they will be a big success with my family. Actually I want to get my 4 granddaughters in the kitchen and get them started to cooking as well. Most of your recipes are so simple they should have no problem with alittle help, so keep it coming.

  • Love the show and all the recipes! I would love a knife like the one Lucinda uses to chop all her vegetables. What kind is it? Thanks so much!

  • Try my recipe for rice dressing My Family love it I cook my chicken or turkey, take the juice and mix it with pre-cooked rice, but dont cook rice well done mix the turkey juice with rice and put in oven with turkey until done and enjoy. use the same spices that you use for dressing.

  • I have been looking for a cocktail recipe that I saw on your show awhile back. It was a blender drink with bananas, rum, I think coconut milk, and maybe lime, I can't remember. Could you please direct to that recipe, aaahhh.... I have some bananas that need to be used up ;) ? thanks so much!
