Mad Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn

Recipes from Today's Show: Chicken & Dumplings

Posted by

Today on MHTV: It's starting to get cool here in NY and a hearty dinner is the perfect antidote for coming in from the cold. Starting off the meal is a soup so filling that it's on its way to being a stew; it's full of tender chicken and fluffy herb dumplings. Follow that up with a moist chocolate cake drizzled with a rich, chocolate glaze courtesy of my first employer, Dolly. More from the show.

  • On today's show, you mentioned a cook-book that you love - southern food by a male author but you didn't give the name. Care to share?

  • My house smells amazing...thank you for a wonderful chicken and dumpling recipe. :)

  • I can get to the website but when I click on recipe
or how to the site page returns as a blank page with the words false.

I have Cox internet and they state it is no problem
they can correct it is with your website.

Your help to correct this is greatly appreciated.
I watch the both shows and so enjoy the sites.
Please do not post on your comment page.
    Thanks

  • On the show, I am almost positive that you stated that you added 1 TBSP of dill but in the recipe it calls for only 1 tsp. I just want to be sure of the correct amount.

  • Lucinda, I was home today and caught your show for the first time. OH,OH,OH, am I glad I did. I have been cooking my meals from scratch for 40 years. I really am at the point where I don't want to cook. I felt like it was just becoming a pain and a drudge, trying to think of new things to cook. I saw your show with the short ribs. My husband loves short ribs, but my two recipes are so time consuming that I don't make them much anymore, so when I saw your show with the short ribs. I knew just by watching that this will be a fantastic meal. I am going out to by the ribs today. I am also going to make the cake and cauliflour recipes. Well, can you tell how excited I am. I went right to your site and printed off several recipes. The other reason that I got to the point that I did not want to cook was that I wanted to persue all of my hobbies and interest without spending hours making my meals. Now I feel I will be able to do this, and give my family a good, tasty meal also. I have set my recorder to record all of your shows. I also want to get your book.

Your interaction between your son and yourself is great. I really enjoyed the show.

    A New Fan,

    Evie

  • I am a new fan and love your show. I love that you are all over the map with different cuisines. At the end of your show I feel like I can make your recipes. I tivo your show because I work full time during the day. Your recipes are fun and "doable". I can come home after work and make a nice dinner. I am also sharing some of your recipes with my daughter who is a college student.

  • I am questioning the glaze for Dolly's Bundt Cake. Is it really 1 cup of unsweetened chocolate and only 1/2 cup sugar. That does not seem right. I want to make the cake soon. Thanks.
