Mad Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn

Recipes from Today’s Show: Steak Night Menu

Posted by

TODAY on MHTV: You can’t really go wrong with steak and potatoes; it’s a delicious, hearty meal that can be put together in a snap. Get the most bang for your buck by using an inexpensive cut of meat like hanger steak (save the more pricey cuts for date night) and marinate it in red wine, making the meat tender and full of flavor. Serve up sides like a real steak house and try my bistro oven fries and creamed spinach— so good, even spinach haters can’t resist. For dessert, indulge in my velvety chocolate pudding: rich, decadent and easy to prepare. More from the show.

  • I am trying to find Calder's chicken recipe from today's show and cannot find it.

  • I have been trying to do the same thing Peg and I can't find it either :(

  • Peg - Search the blog using only the word Mustard and it comes up.

  • Your son Caulder is soooooo cute. If I was 40 years younger, look out!!!!

    Hi Peg and Trish,

Are you talking about the Baked Chicken with the 3 Mustard Glaze? If so, here's the link:

If there's another recipe you're referring to, just let me know and I'm happy to post it.

Also, anytime you're looking for a recipe you can check the Show Archive--everything is dated and all the recipes from the shows are linked there. Here's a link for the show archive:

If you have any questions just give me a shout!

  • Sam - Thanks so much for the links. That is what Peg and I were searching for and I did find it doing a search using only the word Mustard as I had said earlier. I do have a question though..... I have ordered the Mad Hungry Cookbook but it hasn't arrived yet. Will this recipe be in it or should I use my own printer ink and print it out? Thanks for your reply and THANK YOU for this show - it has made a 54 year old learn to cook! I am loving it. I also love the shows where the kids come to help.

  • My 13yr old son & I made the roasted cauliflower twice last week; he LOVES it!!! (me too)
    thanks ;)

  • Lucinda, your show is outstanding. I like your style of cooking for men. Hearty and simple, but sophisticated presentation. Tried to get your recipes first week, no luck. Glad to see them now. Like your new hair style too. Hope your new show is a hit with viewers.

Plan to buy your book also.

    Hey Trish!

No worries, this recipe is in the MH cook book so no need to print it out.

Glad to hear you're loving the show!

  • I tape you shows everyday and watch them when I get home from work. A great new refreshing cooking show, love it! I will have to get your cook book.

  • LOVE your show. I watch it faithfully as I work out on the treadmill. Then I go to your blog to copy the recipe's. My family of 7 is really enjoying them and my girls especially like when your son's are on.
Today I am going to copy the fish recipe you did with the girl friend. I just love fish.
I also really like your motto, "Bringing the family meal back" (something like that). I haven't always been good at getting a healthy meal on the table with our busy lifestyles but I am re-committing myself to accomplish this much-needed family time.
    Thank you. You are inspiring.

  • I just tried to make the pudding from my copy of the book and I guess I will have to buy whole milk just for when I make this. It didn't thicken up with the 1% that I have. Either that, or I didn't have my heat on high enough.

  • Hanger,Just like u made on T.V.

  • Didn't u put the hanger steak in oven too?

  • Sep26 I love this! I loved Dwija’s, too. mehkints it’s time to sit down with this exercise, too.
