For me, Memorial day marks the beginning of summer and is celebrated with the grill. Come 4th of July, I take a break from the hot coals and hit the coast. My mom lives by the beach in Massachusetts & my brothers and I try to descend on “Glousta” at least once during the summer with our families. Days are spent in the sun (and ocean!) and the food comes right from the sea: lobsters, clams- you name it, we eat it. Leftovers are twice as sweet with lobster rolls and 4th of July is always finished out with pie and watching some fireworks.

Happy Fourth of July!

Best,

  • I live in the valley of the sun. A small town out side of Phoenix. It is so hot in July, we do very little out side unless we are blessed with a trip to the mountains. So at around 9pm I pop a big bowl of popcorn and sit at the end of our drive way and watch the fireworks and dream of cooler weather.

  • You have become my favorite chef, you and Lidia.

  • I love it! Sounds like such fun. Enjoy.
