Mad Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn

Recipes from Today's Show: Hungry Boys

TODAY on MHTV: I can't count how many times I've heard, "I'm starving, and there's nothing in the house to eat!" Nine times out of 10, I can prove that theory wrong with some simple pantry ingenuity. First, I'm making mac and cheese with pasta and leftover cheese. For a quick side, I'm drizzling lemon juice and olive oil over steamed broccoli. For dessert: pineapple floatsMore from the show.

  • Lucinda,

My husband and I love your show. We DVR and watch together. We always read your recipes and your blog. You are the best. I have to make those biscuits you made yesterday. They look terrific. Being teachers, we both are big fans of your teacher friend John Contratti. We searched for awhile and found his wonderful blog. We know many people were looking for it. So here it is. (www.cookingwithmrc.tumblr.com)
Have you seen it? I love the recipes he shares. If you go to the bottom of the site and click on "older posts", it takes you back to so many great dishes. He's the perfect example of a great teacher with a great talent for cooking.
I hope he will be back cooking with soon. (maybe some of the recipes on his site)
Keep those great recipes coming, Lucinda. You are the best and most real chef out there.

    Sincerely,
    Jeanne and Wayne

  • Jeanne and Wayne,
Thanks for sharing John Contratti's web site. I know I appreciate it and I am sure a lot of other folks do to.

  • Lucinda,

The recipes from this episode were well received last night by all of my boys! I also have nothing but males to cook for :) My family just loves your show.

My two sons are the same age as two of your three boys. They both love helping me in the kitchen ever since they were tall enough to stir a spoon.

They are always reminding me when they watch the show---hey mom, that looks like us in the kitchen--!!!

It is so refreshing to see you and your sons help you prepare the family meal. You are teaching a valuable lesson everyday for all of those young men out there; every son should learn how to cook. My boys find it fun and very rewarding.

Keep on doing what you do best! You have a wonderful show and a loyal following.

  • I have just submitted acomment and it was evidently not received. Where did it go?

  • Hi Lucinda,
I came upon your show very accidentally and you were featuring your special Mac and Cheese that your sons were raving about. I went on your website and noticed that there was no way to access any of your recipes. I would very much like to have your Mac and Cheese and would appreciate learning how to use your site to find some of your recipes to try at home. Thank you very much, Cherie Ross
