Today on MHTV: The lone star state is one of my favorite places to visit and today, I'm doing some cowboy cookery. For some "make-ahead," black-eyed peas soak overnight before being slow-cooked with a ham hock while, for maximum flavor, grilled rib-eye steak marinates in a smokey-sweet dry rub. Simmered mustard greens get a hint of heat from red pepper flakes and a pat of butter and S&P is all you need for baked sweet potatoes.

I TOTALLY LOVED YOUR SHOW TODAY. WOULD JUST LIKE YOU TO TRY PURPLE HULLED PEAS INSTEAD OF BLACK EYED PEAS.
WE'VE ALWAYS LIVED OUT WEST UNTIL MOVING TO TN. I HAD NEVER HEARD OF PURPLE HULLED PEAS UNTIL WE MOVED HERE. REALLY LOVE THEM. MARTI LUNGREN

This steak rub is absurdly delicious. If you like steak, and looking to do something a little different tonight, try this. Another keeper from LSQ!
