Mad Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn

Recipes From Today's Show: Julia Child Redux

Posted by

TODAY on MHTV: I learned a lot about cooking from Julia Child, and I’m making a few recipes in her honor. For my spin on Coq au Vin, a classic French chicken dish, I’m turning it into a casserole: chicken thighs braised in white wine sauce then baked with egg noodles, Muenster cheese, and a sprinkle of Panko bread crumbs. Then, I’m making an omelet in the French style, just like Julia would have, by cooking eggs in butter and topping them with fresh herbs. On the side, greens tossed with a simple vinaigretteMore from the show.

PS: Let me know what you think of my special “appearance” during the show!

  • I have been watching the Show for about a year and I love the show. I love it, alot. Lucinda is amazing. Her coq au vin casserrole was the first time I laughed sooooo hard watching a cooking show. I dont have to tell you which part was funny. I rewind 3X, just to hear her said juices. I wish I'd tape the episoded. I know it was no disrespect to Julia. Love u Lucinda.

  • Dear Lucinda,

I have now been watching you for an entire week (thanks to Mr. Contratti's blog) and I wanted to tell you, that Mad Hungry is the best cooking show on the air. I love the cooking with family and friends. It's a very warm show.

    Thank you,
    Vanessa

  • Please email me the recipe for strawberry rubarb pie from the April 18, 2012 show. It didn't have a top crust, but a crumb toping

    Thanks Mrs. Houlihan
