Hi Mad Hungry-ers,

As you can see above, I've been doing a little filming; not for the TV Show, but for another cause I'm very passionate about: helping others.  I recently shot this video to raise awareness of a fundraiser I'm hosting with the rest of the Martha Stewart Family and I need your help! On Mad Hungry I focus on bringing back the family meal, but there are 50 million Americans that are underserved and have a difficult time putting food on their tables for themselves and their families every day, which is why we're hosting a fundraising initiative with CrowdRise called Martha Stewart’s Thanks for Giving.

Those of you not familiar with CrowdRise, it's a platform to help people and charities raise money for the causes they care about – and for us, we are passionate about food. In helping raise money, Crowdrise also host contests that challenge charities to compete to raise the most money for their cause. In our competition, the charity that raises the most money before Tuesday, November 27^th is going to get a $25,000 cash prize from us here at Martha Stewart! The charity in second place, receives $15,000 and third place, $10,000.

As a food editor, author and most importantly, a mom of three, I know how important it is to make things accessible and easy – and CrowdRise does just that.  All you have to do is go to our page on CrowdRise.com, find a charity that moves you, and make a donation – amount doesn’t matter, whatever is fitting for you, as every dollar counts!
