About Lucinda Scala Quinn
Lucinda Scala Quinn
Having grown-up in a big Italian family on my Dad’s side, it was hard not to be psyched about food; my mom Rose always cooked simple, fresh food for our family of 6 and it wasn’t until I had to start doing it myself that I appreciated it. My love for cooking started early with our family meals and blossomed into a career as a chef, cooking teacher, caterer, author and food writer. Now that I live in New York City with my three boys and my husband, Ritchie, cooking good-for-you and feel-good meals is as important as ever. I’m a firm believer that food, security and love are entwined in the meals we cook and serve our family and friends and that it’s so important to cook for the ones you love in your life, teach them how to cook and they will pass it on.
I’m currently the Executive Director of Food and Entertaining at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, host of a weekly food radio show EatDrink and you may have seen my face around EveryDay Food on PBS (where I was a co-host) or on CBS’ Early Show, NBC’s Today Show and “The Martha Stewart Show” where I appear often. I’ve also written three books, Lucinda’s Rustic Italian Kitchen, Lucinda’s Authentic Jamaican Kitchen, and MAD Hungry: Feeding Men & Boys that all feature the food I cook and love: recipes big on flavor and low on fuss.
With my new show MAD Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn, I’m continuing my journey as a mom on a mission to bring back the family meal and do it in an accessible, affordable and easy way. We all lead busy lives nowadays but our meals with our loved ones shouldn’t suffer- I’ve got a game plan filled with tips, tricks and survival techniques to bring good food filled with big taste to the table with straight-forward, simple and easy-to-follow recipes.
Tune in!: MAD Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn on the Hallmark Channel- weekdays at 12/11c.
