1 My Spurtle Collection
2 Using it, as I often do, for dinner in my enamel cast iron (no scratches!).
3 With a mix of a wooden spoon and a spatula, my Spurtle helps me get breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the table. It's an extension of my arm!
4 The Little Spurt is great for softening butter, spreading frosting on cupcakes, or making salsas (like I'm doing here).

6 Mad Hungry Cravings: Cook The Food You CRAVE
It has been a really busy time lately getting ready for my book launch. Like most of you--my days are a crazy patch work of activities surrounding family, work and--friends (need more of that time!).
I really love blogging regularly, but--I know, I know--why don't I do it MORE. In fact, writing, in general, is a true pleasure for me. So I will try to do more here.
Aside from the words, I've been focusing on creating some of my favorite tools etc. into a Mad Hungry collection of "favorite things to use in the kitchen".
So it makes me really happy to have the opportunity to sell my very first product exclusively on QVC along with my new book Mad Hungry Cravings THIS Sunday 2/24 at 1:00PM EST on QVC.
This means the book can be had one full month ahead of the official publishing date! It's filled with all of the recipes you crave-- Sesame Chicken, Boston Cream Pie, Philly Cheese Steaks, Pad Thai, Mac and Cheese, Wings, Burgers, Hot Fudge Sundaes, Fettuccine Alfredo, Pulled Pork-- well, you get the picture.
For anyone who has watched the Mad Hungry TV show, you know that I am constantly grabbing and using my Spurtle in the kitchen. AND, I have received hundreds of inquires about what the tool is and where it can be found!
Well now I have an answer: I've worked hard at making the best Spurtle and the official Mad Hungry Spurtle can ONLY be found on QVC This Sunday at 1PM.
This phenomenal utensil is actually a very old tool--made originally for stirring porridge in Scotland. I think of it as a cross in between a wooden spoon and a spatula. It is a heritage tool that can be passed on from generation to generation. What's old is new again. This is not you grandmothers wooden spoon, however!
Ours is made from bamboo--the 'greenest' of all woods. It grows wild like a weed, is hard, durable, and does not retain odors. We'll be offering two sizes: the Spurtle and little Spurt.
Using the gentle smooth edge of wood means you will not scratch your pans either. Watching friends and family scrape away with metal tools in their nonstick or enameled cast iron pans, causing scratches and chips, just floors me. And, ditto for rubber or silicone which can melt-- and well, who knows what is inside there and how safe it is for our family?
Here at my home, anyone who sees my Spurtles wants one, which means it will make an awesome gift for the cook in your life.
If we are successful with our Spurtles, then we will be able to offer all the other great items I'm working on now. SO please tune in, call in to say "hi" and show your Mad Hungry support! Tell friends and family too: This Sunday, February 24th at 1PM EST on QVC: In The Kitchen with David.
With the launch of the book comes a very exciting tour that I kick off in early March. I'll be doing demos, cooking classes, talks, book signings, etc. all across the country and what I'd love most is to meet all of my Mad Hungry fans-- I have been overwhelmed with the dedication and love you have shown to Mad Hungry and would like to put faces to names, so to speak. Check back next week when I'll officially announce the tour dates and cities.
Remember, cook for the ones you love, teach them to cook for themselves and they will pass it on.
Best,
LSQ
For those of you that have spurtles, tell us why you love it now through Sunday on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram: @madhungrylsq with the hastag #qvcspurtlemania.
